This is always a tough decision when you are looking to buy or sell your Boulder home. Often, the most important decision. So, do you need help selecting your Boulder Real Estate Agent? Especially with a wide variety in every market? Some have other jobs or are part time and don’t have as much time as you’d like them to have. Who has the experience and drive to help you? Who is going to help you buy or sell your dream home?
Where To Start
I always say to first do some research. Successful real estate agents should have a digital footprint. Look online and see what you find. Who stands out to you? What have these real estate agents done? Even if they have “years of experience” it doesn’t mean they have been successful. It may just mean they have paid their dues. Google and see what comes up.
Can You Trust Them?
Once you find a real estate agent you’d possibly be interested in, you need to find out if you can trust them. Confidentiality and trust are very important when buying or selling your home. Check out their testimonials, reviews or anyone you know who have used them. Did they trust them? And how did it all work out? Check in with your friends and family and see who they have used.
Are you selling your home and looking for a real estate agent? What about using the real estate agent you used when you bought your home? This could also be an option if you trusted them and were pleased.
Start interviewing different real estate agents here in Boulder. Get a feel for them. It’s always a good idea to meet and have them tell you about what areas they specialize in. They should walk you through their process and what to expect. But remember, highly successful real estate agents would normally be busy, so take that into consideration when trying to make an appointment. Try to read how motivated they are for your business. Are they doing it just for the money, or do they actually love what they do and want to help you get your dream home?
Not Everyone Who Sells Real Estate Is A Realtor
Is your real estate agent licensed? I suggest checking realtor.org to check if someone is considered an actual realtor. Someone can be a real estate agent and not a realtor. Only real estate licensees who are members of the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) are called REALTORS®. People with this title are expected to have a higher level of knowledge for helping people buy or sell a home and have a very strict code of ethics. When searching this website you can even find out if there are complaints on them.
Choosing Your Real Estate Agent
There are many things to take into consideration when selecting your Boulder Real Estate Agent. See how the real estate agent will communicate with you and if it’s what you’re looking for. Phone calls, texts, emails? What’s your preferred method? Make sure to do your research online and offline. You want to make sure you have the real estate agent who will match with your wants and needs.
